Interior Alteration and Porch Addition

This project, located in Dutchess County, was completed in two phases. The primary goal for the project was to make better use of the poorly configured existing interior space. Phase one of the project involved converting a bedroom and mudroom into the master bedroom with a master bath. Phase two involved reconfiguring the remainder of the first floor. The dining room was relocated to have better proximity to the kitchen. The access to the living room was changed so that furniture layout in the living room could be improved. The feature addition to the house was the porch located on the western side, which provides the owners a great place to sit and enjoy sunsets. Interesting features include a built-in wet bar and built-in bookshelves in the living room and home office. Both phases of the project included replacing all windows, with some removed and some added. All of the siding was replaced and the roof redone.
